Sun Microsystems launches offshore centre in Chennai
Sun Microsystems has launched an offshore centre in Chennai to manage and monitor its customers IT infrastructure and processes. The facility would start operating with 150 engineers and grow to 300 people shortly, officials said.

Indian flights to Varanasi, Khajuraho
Indian is launching new flights to Khajuraho and Varanasi from Delhi from September 15, 2006. The airline has also scheduled a daily flight on the Varanasi-Kathmandu route. The carrier has increased the frequency of operations on several routes such as Chennai-Bangalore, Delhi-Raipur-Vizag-Chennai, Chennai-Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata-Agartala, Kolkata-Silchar and Silchar-lmphal.

THE NOIDA Police on Thursday arrested two employees of a call centre and recovered the data they had allegedly stolen.
One V Angel had lodged a complaint that his employees were suspected to have been stealing data from the company.
Police laid a trap, relaxing the security around 3 a.m. on Thursday Amanjeet Kaur, an employee, copied data on to a CD and a floppy from the operation room. On interrogation she gave the name of her accomplice as Tahir. Both were arrested.

Natco Pharma has launched a new product, Bortezomib 3.5 mg injection, under the brand name Bortenat. Bortenai is used in the treatment of multiple myeloma and is the first time launch of the Bortezomib generic in India, the company said in a statement.

Etihad Airways on Wednesday launched its loyalty programme which will give bonus miles to passengers. The airline is also looking at partnering with Indian carriers such as Air India, Indian, Air Sahara and Jet Airways to expand the reach of its new scheme. The UAE-based carrier plans to double the number of its flights between Abu Dhabi and India as well. The airline already has ticketing arrangements with these four Indian carriers.

Centre said around 411 MNCs of the total 1915 assessed were found guilty of direct tax evasion during 2005-06. Number of evaders is 21.46%, minister of state for finance SS Palanimanickam said.
